Description

Froggiest Frog is part of the GCA Great Leap Frog Race between December 1, 2011 until January 31, 2012.

Please help him to fulfil his duty by helping to move him along, sign the log book and log online at Geocaching.com.au

Please move him along ASAP, he is in a race.

Please note this plastic/ceramic/acrylic/PVC frog is only small (10cm) this makes him adept at hiding, he is staring at a preform tube which which will distract him whilst you pounce...

The rules of the "Moving Cache Leap Frog Game" are published on the Caching Games site, a ladder and map are also available

Logging this cache is easy:

First Step:   Log your find with a 'Found it' log (this will give you your smiley!)

Second Step:

When you have moved the cache to a new location, log a 'Moved' log, adding the new co-ordinates and even a hint in the hint box if you wish.

So go for it – this frog is out there waiting for you.

Reading previous logs it seems this one is now missing, so we'll archive it to stop cachers searching for it. If the cache does reappear it can simply be reinstated.

Today we decided to target some caches in Launceston to get finds for the battleship games. In total we looked for 14 caches and found 12 with 2 dnfs. We had an eventful day touring through streets. Venturing to places we had never been to before.

This one was definitely not there. Had a look while one the way to find a nearby cache.

I have been back to check. It has been removed from where I had it hidden at the southern end of the log.

A day out for double points started on the Paradise Peninsula, Sandford then down to Tasman Peninsula and off to the middle of Tasmania to Tunbridge, (well almost) and back to Oatlands for tea with muggle Mum and Tassie Trekkers. That was foiled due to everything being shut on the public holiday. Had to resort to a monte carlo biscuit and thermos coffee! Good to catch up with family and swap some moveables. Now headed North.

There is sake parking on the opposite side of the road.

Hi Splad
Had to go to Hobart today for business so decided to stop at the Springs on Mt Wellington to find a cache or two for the “State of the Nation” Scavenger Hunt; as it was time to use my day for hunting caches to gain a few more points for the BEST STATE IN THE NATION, Tasmania.

Weather:
An overcast day at Huonville and a bit chilly at the start of the day – eleven degrees here. It may rain later in the day. While looking for caches it was only four degrees Celsius on Mt Wellington, fourteen degrees at Mornington, got up to sixteen degrees at Sandford
Maximum temperature was twenty-one degrees on my return to Huonville.
Plenty of wind in most places whilst caching.

Travel:
Drove from Huonville to Mt Wellington finding (GA4044, GA4126, GA7810, GA3913 and GA2814) then to Mornington to find more moveables (GA7872, GA5470, GA11068 and GA8880) down to Sandford to find a night cache (GA11135) plus a moveable (GA8321) and returned to Huonville.
For the day, it took 6940 steps burning 1260 calories to cover a total of 5.37 kilometres and find twelve caches and hide three on foot. I drove 164 kilometres for the day; a total of 169.37 kilometres for the whole caching day.

GA3913 “Haven’t got the Froggiest Leapfrog”
Having already found four other caches on Mt Wellington I drove 2.8 kilometres to arrive at ground zero for this cache.
The cache was Sainted at 0716 hours.
My small walk saw me expend 23 calories over a distance of 0.05 kilometres using 100 steps.
All the protocols were completed and it was time to head to the next cache.
Really enjoyed the exercise and being near the scrub - THANK YOU.

This cache will be used as part of the States of the Nation games currently running from 16 December 2017 until 21 January 2018. As the new caches have so many options, a decision will be made as to which scavenge to use it against. It is nice to have a choice. Thanks.
States of the Nation is a real and virtual geocaching scavenger hunt where your home state will compete against other Australian states to find and hide geocaches. Over the 5 week course of the game there will be hundreds of scavenges that you can track down, find and convert into points for your state. Some scavenges will be easy. Some scavenges will be tough. Some scavenges may be impossible. Don't despair. You are not competing just for yourself; you are competing as a state.
There will be a number of scavenges released on a weekly basis but each scavenge will remain until the end of the game. This means even if you decide to join the game part way through, the early scavenges are still available for you to claim. Scavenges will require you to find a geocache, hide a geocache, attend an event or do something else completely different. The game focuses on all aspects of geocaching and so all cache types, sizes, terrain and difficulty will be up for scavenging. TrigPoints, Events, History, Virtual, Webcam, Podcache and Locationless geocaches are all scavengable, so you're not just looking for a box under a bush. Each week there will be a mix of physical, non-physical and locationless geocaches so even if you are not in a geocache rich area, use the locationless component of scavenger series to get out, find something to log and gain points for your state. If you watch the scavenges as they are released you might also spot the 'not so hidden' patterns and plan for future weeks of the series.
Hiding geocaches will also be a large part of the scavenger series, but please remember this is a game of geocaching and geocaches that you hide should be long lasting, be of good quality and you should be proud of what you hide. Please avoid hiding a geocache just for the day so your state can find it before you archive it. Geocaches that exist for a short period of time may result in any claims on that geocache being disqualified. Play creatively, but also play fairly. More geocachers hiding more geocaches makes for more geocaching fun.
If you’re not participating, get into the game and help Tassie come first please.
These caches will also help collect points for the Dragonzone Game.

HAPPY NEW YEAR
TFTC and cheers

01-Jan-18
We headed out to the mountain today to find five new caches that had been published while we have been away up North. Thanks OldSaint, Stainless=Steel-Rat and gooseandegg for creating caches which have multiple options to use in the States of the Nation games. We also scored as a bonus the first to find on OldSaint's newly published "The Photographer" cache.

After stopping at the springs we thought we might get a coffee but alas the "shop" wasn't open. I dont know why it wasn't open as it was like Flinder's Street Station, people and cars everywhere. They missed out today on lots of business.

We did however find a goose and a rat in search of coffee as well. I said I can show you mine if you show me yours (moveables that is) and the Event was published, moveables sighted, signed and some taken to be moved. Haven't got the froggiest leapfroggy was collected from the Event and will be moved on soon.

We left the mountain hiding moveables all the way down that hadn't been collected by other attendees, so hopefully the elevation will help others in the games. We con tinued on to the Domain to find another OldSaint cache that had been published Christmas Eve and then over to Howrah to hide a couple more moveables before heading home. As we hadn't had lunch and it was getting late afternoon, we stopped at the grocer at Lauderdale only to find it wasn't open. We are not having much luck spending our money today! Sorry about the lengthy logs. We are currently aiming for a virtual verbosity trophy. TFTM

In the area for a couple days with my wife while she was attending an event associated with her hobby/passion, but I had a couple of hours where I could get a bit of caching in.

Just a little further along the highway and a young frog that hadn't been found for almost 2 years was calling out....so I stopped, checked the guard rail and found the little guy sitting there. Signed his log, but with a few moveables still to relocate, I left him for someone else to hopefully grab soon.
