Description

Moveable Cache Race 2001 :: Green Tree Frog

Red Eyed Green Tree Frog

Red-eyed Tree Frogs are found in eastern Australia north of mid-New South Wales.

Gnomish plea

The Red-eyed Tree Frog has nocturnal habits, feeding only at night on moths and other insects.

The call of the Red-eyed Tree Frog is a 'waa-aa...waa-aa' sound, followed by a soft trill. At close range these frog choruses can be unbearably loud.

This is an entrant in the 2011 moving cache race - Leap Frog.

The aim of the game is to see how far or how often our cache can be moved within the game period.

Please move the frog on quickly and post the new coordinates.

Rules

The race is from 1/12/2011 to 31/1/2012 so it would be appreciated if finders can move it on quickly far and wide within Australia during this period.

The rules of the "Moving Cache Race Game" are published on the Caching Games site

Logging this cache is easy:

First Step: Log your find with a 'Found it' log (this will give you your smiley!)

Second Step: When you have moved the cache to a new location, log a 'Moved' log, adding the new co-ordinates and even a hint in the hint box if you wish.

Logs

This cache looks to be MIA. To save it turning up on the lists we'll archive it. If it's resurrected the owner can activate it by placing an "Unarchived" log against it.

Well I though I was finding this one today, found container, wrote in log book. Then couldn't find Matt's Galumph on GC website Confused . Now older and wiser, I have inadvertantly signed 'Gunyah have a Picnic's" log book again. Didn't see a moveable nearby, but with an event nearby I'm sure someone else has picked him up and moved him on - otherwise I am blind as well Doh

Another big day caching in Bendigo and surrounds with 67 finds and no DNF's. Started the day caching out to Axedale then spending a day with the Central Victorian Geocachers on a 4WD adventure through the Fosterville Hills.

There were a number of caches placed for the event including a smiley face geoart in the forest. Also completed a number of challenge caches for various milestones and made a find on an unpublished cache.

Finished the day with some CBD night caching before heading back to the cabin for a bourbon and pizza.

Will keep it moving. TFTC. Very Happy

We thought we'd better rescue this movable which is when we read the plea from the cache owner SamWalkers , but alas it was too late as the Albury Event has come and gone. Sorry for being a bit late - do you want us to forward this frog to you?

29-Mar-12
If any one wanted to grab the frog and carry it to the Mega Event I would like that.

6:30PM 26/12/11

I was on my way home after a BBQ birthday lunch in Healsville and decided it was time to find some moveable frogs since I had actually forgotten to put one of my own out It was time to move someone elses.

I arrived at GZ and nobody about, I quickly made the find and discovered there was not 1 but 3 Movable frogs here. I grabbed them all and off I went.

I will move these on while I am caching over the next 2 days.

Thanks to SamWalkers for the hide.

I was on another lunchtime frog chasing run today and logged 4 frogs. I have left them all in place as I do not have the time to move on. I will log a moved log however to make sure they are not missed by others looking for frogs. Thanks

After showing all the interstate froggies a virtual tour of Melbourne so they wouldnt get too scared seeing big green things that move (trams ) etc (see photos) we took Matt's Galumph frog for a drive and he hopped out of the bag when he saw one of our own frogs looking lonely as we couldnt pick him up!
GPS accuracy wasn't great so check the hint!
Travel well Matt's Galumph Froggy!

Had searched for this one before...at this spot, however when I didn't find it, I just thought someone had beaten me to it. 5 days later, still not found, and now with a DNF.....so off to check again.

Was busy searching around when Giggly Gecko Clan arrived looking for other frogs, and as they had placed this one here, we went back to check. A quick look under the folage....and yep, there it was.

Neat little frog and glad now to have made the found.

Thanks to SW for the frog and GGC for the help in locating him.
