Description
Katie Frog
Katie Frog would like to come home. Give her a lift to the North of Melbourne (Greensborough) or anywhere near and you'll have our eternal thanks. There may even be a pathtag in it for you ;-)
Following on from the highly successful Gnome Katie Gnomette GA2884 that my now three year old daughter painted for last years moving cache race I've let her loose on the paints again. Don't say you weren't warned!
This frog should stand out like... well, frogs eyes, unless you're at a paint factory.
So as Katie Frog would say:
You can never have to many colours!!!
This is a moving cache created for the Leapfrog Project game on www.cachinggames.com that runs from 1 December 2011 until 31 January 2012. The game is over. Thanks to all the people that helped by moving and hiding our Frogs :-D
Moving-cache hiding tips:
- When you grab the cache please rehide it again elsewhere asap. 48 hours is a good guide but I know that life sometimes gets in the way.
- Log your find here on geocaching.com.au with a Found it log as soon as you can so others are not trying to find the cache you just moved.
- When you rehide the cache, log a Moved log and put the new coordinates in the "Add waypoint co-ordinates to log:" box. This allows the software to automatically update the new location.
Enter your co-ordinates in the format Sdd mm.mmm Eddd mm.mmm
You don't have to include the degrees or minutes symbols when entering updated co-ordinates but you should leave a space between the degrees and minutes.
Try a copy and paste of the example co-ordinates into the new co-ordinates box and type over them. - Add a hint for the new location in the Hints field when you enter the Moved log.
- Please look after this Frog.
- Wherever possible, try and keep to the difficulty / terrain rating as originally listed.
When you hide it somewhere new, please add a good hint to help seekers to find it.
Finally, have fun. I know I will.
Logs
It's time for her to be retired and rest up after a well run race. Kate and I will be celebrating her Frogs return by introducing her to Kates Gnome from last years race. Then they can both retire happily into our garden.
Thanks for everyone who helped move Katie Frog and special thanks to geo_jas who hand delivered her to us at the 3rd Leap event.
Hop into my car for a drive up northwest
The frog population has become a little low on the western side of Melbourne so let's restock it a little with the seven we picked up today.
I hadn’t realised when we went searching for this one but we are reunited with the very first frog we found.

Yeehaa, our first froggy after enjoying the logs on the four we published.
We will move Katie along soon.

She is hoping to take a train back again.
However a ride in the car may be better!!

I jumped in the car and headed over to find her lying in wait.
This frog is moving on from the pond.

Reviewing my stats I discovered a few that had very few logged words regarding the journey. I like to write a bit, and hate reading my caches logs with little of the story. This one was found somewhere and dropped somwhere on a day when we moved frogs via Geelong, Queenscliffe, Newport (ish) and ultimately to Kilkunda. Thanks for the cache and the opportunity to take this one along for the journey. This one like the 15 or soo others ended up at either Avalon Airport or up a tree at Kilkunda.. Fun was had, however like all good story's they must come to an end.. thanks for the frog..
