Description

Farewell Froggie is only our second GCA cache - what have we been doing all our lives?

So this summer we decided to hop on board and farewell a frog who has been residing in our garden.

This fella came to us several years ago as a thank you gift from our children's school, where we had been regular helpers in their vege garden, ensuring the plants got watered on weekends and the chooks got fed. He has lounged around in our garden for long enough - who says it's not easy being green? Now he's off to see Australia.  I'm not sure how far he will get, considering he's fairly heavy... but away he goes!!!

Please treat him well, and move him far and often ! Remember to log a hint when you place him, to help future finders.

Don't forget a pencil for this one, and there is a pathtag for the first to find.

Found at the Canberra event Spring Time Trivia Time (2012). TFTC.

16-Sep-12
Found it sitting on a table at the trivia event. Saw everybody taking notes and thought if you cant beat em, join em.

16-Sep-12
Can we log our own cache? I'm not sure, but we found him this morning at the event and decided that after months of travelling and a general declining of interest in frogs (especially big heavy ones), we thought we might bring him home to the garden.

16-Sep-12
Met this Froggie at the Spring Time Trivia this morning. Very Happy

16-Sep-12
So close and yet so far... Surprisingly this cache was on my unfound list, so I was pleased to discover it at the event today. TFTC.

Too nice to cover up so he's back in my garden. If no one picks him up then he'll be coming with on my drive to the Snowies in July and I'll drop him off in Canberra, he may like to visit his owner.

27-May-12
I'd forgotten how heavy this "little" froggie is. But I do like him. He's resting up on my front porch. Now should he hang out in my garden again?????

After a good rest 'Farewell Froggie' decided to return the Big Smoke and entice some cacher to move him along.

08-May-12
"Farewell Froggie" was sitting quietly in the back of the GeoBuru and said he had enough of Leura and wanted to be dropped off in Clwydd where he could have a short holiday, after all a frogs work is never done!
He will soon be on is way back to the big smoke for more adventures.

My apologies for not moving Farewell as promptly as is my usual practice.

I wanted to get him out to Clwydd again, where all Leap Frogs should touch base.

Farewell again, Farewell!

30-Apr-12
I stopped by Springwood Cemetery while in the area on other business. (Completely forgot to check on Farewell last time I was here.)

My GPSr didn't seem to be very happy at first, so I checked various woody spots until the satellites straightened themselves out and I retrieved Farewell from a very likely place.

He's a nice full-sized froggie, isn't he?

Will possibly transfer him to Lithgow in the near future . . .

Forgot that I had this guy in the car! I tried to pass him on to other cachers at recent events around here, but didn't manage to get someone to take him. So now that I've remembered him living in the boot, I've found him a new spot in a quiet part of town.

27-Feb-12
Was in this spot to hide another frog & reached out to pick up some bark as camo. What's this under that bark? A frog??? He'd better come along with me Very Happy

518. Sorry it's a couple of days late but I got him in the end. Whacked on a backpack (having been warned) and wandered down the road with FFP and a couple of very excited pooches [Note - do not walk our dogs around the area followed around 6 o'clock at night - every man woman child and their dog is out and all T and R want to do is get to them to play]. Anyway found the cache quickly and then the return trip.

Now where to place? Where to place? Well the comps over so maybe....

Bwahahahaha.

03-Jan-12
This was one of many frogs (as well as a few gnomes) that came along to boot Zalgariath back to Europe at ZEAMMAFF. Things were really hopping as more and more frogs arrived during the afternoon, by the time the event had finished, over 55 movables had hopped onto the table. Of course, with that many frogs hopping around in one place, something was bound to happen, and one poor gnome was bumped to the ground, requiring a trip to gnome hospital and a serious stay there, but the less said about that the better.

14-Dec-11
Noticed this big guy lazily laying back watching us not find things at Glenwood. Somehow he crept onto the back seat while I wasn't watching so there he was when I got home. There's not many establishments cater for your size FF, but I'll find one!
