Description
No. 58 Super Sic
Marco Simoncelli (20 January 1987 – 23 October 2011) was an Italian motorcycle racer. He competed in the Road Racing World Championships for 10 years from 2002 to 2011. He started in the 125cc class before moving up to the 250cc class in 2006. He won the 250cc World Championship with Gilera in 2008. After four years in the intermediate class, he stepped up to the MotoGP class with the Honda Gresini.
Simoncelli tragically died after an accident during the 2011 Malaysian Grand Prix at Sepang on 23 October 2011.
Simoncelli was a considered the next superstar of MotoGP and was an extremely talented and fast rider. At times his aggression got him in trouble both on the track and with the official, however during the later part of the 2011 season he seemed to mature as a rider and started to return consistent performances. Indeed his best MotoGP finish was second place in the Australian GP at Phillip Island in 2011 just weeks before his death in a freak accident at Sepang.
This cache is a tribute to Marco. Rest in Peace Marco.
This moveable cache is racing in the Leapfrog Competition . MotoGP riders regularly ride at speeds of 300kph and love to ride motorbikes so please move him along quickly and far:)
Please move him along within 2 days as per the Leapfrog rules/guidelines so he has a chance to win.
The log book is in a bison tube atached to a base plug, please replace the plug firmly. After you sign the log book, please move the cache to a secure place, well out of sight of muggles, but in a spot that's quite easy to find. And leave a very clear clue for the next finder.

So tonight we went to Bifrost and found a nice spot overlooking the lake.
I used to love watching the motoGP & superbikes, Marco's death last year was tragic.
How could I have forgotten Marco?
I think I found him first on day one of the comp . . .
Anyhow, it seems he's doing very well and has gotten around quite a lot.
He was in Blackheath, in the Blue Mountains, for our information gathering there.
Left him on the table for others to move . . .
many Frogs and Gnomes went to Canberra and who knows where from there, and many stayed to be relocated around the Sydney area very soon.
Thanks for the frog
Thanks for the frog Purplepeopleeater
Please move him on.
He needs a bit of safe space to himself. As such he is just over the fence to be out of the way. You can walk anti-clock wise around the fence, through the gate to GZ.
Thanks for the froggy fun!

Lots and lots and lots of Leapfrogs and gnomes in attendance! It turned out to be a great day for all Leapfrog and Gnome lovers, a great event with great people attending, we all had a ball.
Thanks to Zal for making it all happen!
Found Marco once again, this time at the fabulous ZEAMMAFF Event! at Concord West, NSW!
Lots and lots and lots of Leap Frogs and gnomes in attendance!
Thanks to Zal for making it all happen!
Ah well! it is only a 3 hours train trip from Lithgow, I knew exactly where this one was but it turned out to be the first of many DNF this morning thanks to tronador!
maybe next time if I can be bothered to do this again.
Just got a notification through of a frog move... hang on! Run outside... no one there? Then I spy the cheeky Bugger staring at me impatiently. Note to find time ---> 23 seconds hahaha
He's big, and white so you shouldn't need a clue
Edited coords - he's not in a National Park!
Very spiffy indeed!
Will try to put him in 'pole position' in the Blue Mountains.
Marco was quite pleased to be rescued actually becasue it was rather chilly outside tonight. TFTC ppe
