Description
Aristophones has magic powers to lure cachers and other invertebrates to him
This frog is part of the Great Leap Frog Moveable Race from the 1st of December 2011 until the 31st of January 2012.
Aristophones has magic powers to lure cachers and other invertebrate creatures to him. We were hoping we could use him to get a solar grant from the Federal Government but that fell through so he has been thrown out of home. He is now hop(p)ing to win the leap frog race.
In 405BC Aristophones wrote a comic play about Dionysus' search for a poet to take back out of Hades to save Athens. Three great poets (playwrights) Euripides, Sophocles, and Agathon had recently died and Aristophones created a play about Dionysus' search for a poet to take back out of Hades to save Athens. To do this Dionysus travels to Hades to bring Euripides back from the dead.
They arrive at the River Acheron and the ferryman Charon ferries Dionysus across. Dionysus helps with the rowing and on the crossing, a Chorus of croaking frogs (the frogs of the play’s title) joins them, and Dionysus chants along with them.
“Brekekekex, koax, koax,
Koax, koax, koax!
Oh we are the musical Frogs!
We live in the marshes and bogs!
Sweet, sweet is the hymn
That we sing as we swim,
And our voices are known
For their beautiful tone
When on festival days
We sing out in praise
Of the genial god-
And we don’t think it odd
When the worshipping throng,
To the sound of our song,
Rolls home through the marshes and bogs;
Brekekekex!
Rolls home through the marshes and bog.”

What to do with him.
First Step: Log your find with a 'Found' log - this will give you your smiley!
Second Step: Log the move with a new 'Moved' log, adding the new co-ordinates as well as something useful in the hint box. This will update the main co-ordinates and the hint for the cache listing so that it will update in GSAK and the like.
The rules are simple:
- You can "find" this cache as many times as you like (the more the merrier!) as long as the last two moves were by someone else
- A move should be completed and logged with new coordinates and a hint within 2 days please
The main idea is to keep TwinkleToes hopping along so please hide her in a terrain and difficulty level that will keep her easily found. Don't forget you can find and move TwinkleToes as many times as you like!
You can check out his progress in the race at

Logs
It appears Aristophones has crossed the River Styx to Hades and we have had no messages from the other side.
This was placed in 2013. We have searched several times and can't find it. I think it is probably gone.
We looked at the base of every plant and could not find this. I think it might have gone missing. Perhaps the last hider could check?
Hopping along Rail Trail with me and stop at the pub to hide.
Waiting for new finder.

Time to hide a couple of frogs I've had far too long.
Aristophones is hiding with another Frog near the start of a significant geo-trail.

Our favourite geocaching park appears to have acquired a cluster of 9 GCA movable caches, all close together, so today, geodaughter and I set out to find them.
A very sophisticated frog indeed. Thanks Team Lego Men. Well try and move him on soon.

First of this little cluster of 3 on this cold and wet Melbourne morn. A nice easy one at 08:50 thanks to excellent coordinates. It was such a nice spot that I left little Aristophones in situ.
TNLNSL. Thanks Team Lego Men.

Moved yesterday to Wattle Park - logging now that I have the coordinates at hand.
I've moved the cache to Wattle Park, but I accidentally moved the waypoint off my GPS onto my PC so there will be a short delay in posting my moved log - sorry!
Found it on this Star Wars Day (May the fourth be with you) during my lunch break so as to avoid problems locating it in the dark such as I've been having the previous couple of nights. I needn't have worried though, this "frog" was an easy find.
Dropped off as part of the frog-gnome exchange program. Seems a shame to hide this guy in a box. TFTF. Good luck in your travels Aristophones.
I've got a few frogs that I've had for too long (one in particular) so I dropped in here for a frog swap. I tried yesterday at lunchtime but being close to Scienceworks on the school holidays meant no go. I stopped in this morning at about 5:15 and grabbed Aristophones. I don't normally like dropping multiple frogs in one spot but busy work and busier weekends means little time for frogging. Thanks Team Lego Men for the frog.

A little closer to the city for this guy. Good luck in the travels
Picked up this guy while on my way to Lorne.
A nice easy find that gave the geokids a chance to log the GC cache.

Visiting the LEAP year event then heading off with the Routers.
Finally one has come past Lithgow and stayed long enough for me to grab as we went to Orange to pick up the grandson.
Now that the race has ended maybe a few more might make their way to the west.
Where to take this one now.....North, South or West.

Found in the mist with geoson holding the GPS. Great excitement when cache seen. Taken to Sydney
Think little froggy would appreciate sometime in the sunshine but Sydney weather isn't condusive to charging his bateries!

Finally got this frog hopping along again!!
Sorry all, I've been busy with a new job. No time to cache sadly. I will get this frog hopping again this weekend. J Hoogs
Dropped off outside a model competition venue.
Zac really loved the light and solar panel attached to this frog. We can't get it to work, but it looks cute all the same. Will find a new hide for it this weekend.
Met this frog at the event, great to see so many frogs and cachers!

This was one of many frogs (as well as a few gnomes) that came along to boot Zalgariath back to Europe at ZEAMMAFF. Things were really hopping as more and more frogs arrived during the afternoon, by the time the event had finished, about 55 movables had hopped onto the table. Of course, with that many frogs hopping around in one place, something was bound to happen, and one poor gnome was bumped to the ground, requiring a trip to gnome hospital and a serious stay there, but the less said about that the better.
Spotted on the BMPT but Tronador took him to keep safe before he attends the Frog Fest in Sydney on the 3rd
Hope you guys can make it!

Hiding in Eric Mobbs Reserve in Castle Hill and loving it!
This guy did not want to be found, hidding very quietly he was.
Found him napping at night though, now for a little trip.

A cute little fella waiting to hitch a ride.
Placed at base of apple bark tree 2 meters inside fence
Finally met this guy again. He seems to be hiding his light under a bushell though, so no spotlight when I turned up.
Aristo decided hw would wait and pay homage to the fallen at a local war memorial.
Knowing lots of frogs come from Bunnings, this guy hopped out near their carpark.
Spotted four croakers dancing on a car roof near a portal to the Dark Side. This one has hitched a ride to the home pond before moving on.
A gang of four frogs made their way to the famous cache, Dark Side of the Moon, where they croaked their way through a few songs before departing. I think they got into the bags of my fellow cachers, introducing Baktrak to the world of Leapfrog and the moving cache race!
My FTF - First True Frog! Missed the start yesterday in an amphibian-free zone in FNQ but this one hopped into view in a familiar gnome spot from last season and I dropped by for a quick grab.
Time to drop this fella off. Placed next to a big tree, right at the base. His light will shine the way...When we get some sunshine that is...
Another early morning cache and another * FTF *. Cool Obsessed much? Nahhhhhh......now where's the next one
