Description

This is our entry in the LeapFrog Moveable Cache Race

Once a jolly swaggie frog camped by a billabong

Under the shade of a Coolibah Tree

And he sang as he watched and waited 'til his billy boiled

Who'll play a leapfrogging game with me

Swaggie Frog is entered in the moveable cache race running from 1/12/2011 - 31/1/2012.

Some of the rules -

  • The game commences at 00:00:00 1 December 2011 AEDST and concludes 23:59:59 31 January 2012 AEDST
  • You can not find and move your own cache during the game period
  • Caches must be found and hidden by the same cacher (i.e. no mailing the cache to another cacher to hide)
  • There is no limit to the number of times other cachers can find / move the cache provided there are at least two other finds / moves in between
  • If a cacher moves your cache overseas and it remains unfound overseas for 1 week or more, the same cacher may move your cache (within the country or to another country) without breaking the "2 moves" rule
  • There is no limit to the distance other cachers can move the cache
  • Other cachers in the game may find / move your cache, but they must move it on within 2 days

Yay, by a funny coincidence we were headed to carrick today, to set up a geocaching activity for the girl guide jamboree happening next week. So we stopped by and picked up swaggie.. He is headed home now to retire in the garden.
Thanks to all who moved him and cared for him over the last year

He has a nice view of the old zoo. Cool

01-Oct-12
He swaggered in and sat on the table - probably because there was no billabong at hand to camp by. We all enjoyed his company at Haunting, and then he swaggered of . . . RibbitRibbit

01-Oct-12
Another cutie that sat in the middle of the table at our "Haunting Lives' event.
I now have this little guy and will l put him out again soon Dancing

01-Oct-12
Attended the event "Haunting Lives" tonight at the Carlyle Hotel organised by red tag. What a great night we had.
Part way through the evening, many moveables were placed on the table and many logs were made. This was just one I made as the circuit of the table progressed.
TFTC and Cheers OldSaint

Camped at the Carlyle,
under the shade of a cool frothy brew...

Looks like someone's thrown swaggie in the bag with a bit too much force. It's just the front brim of his hat has gone...but it's actually hardly noticeable and he just looks a bit more country-bumkin. Thanks Taiko's family.

Out along a nice walking track.

05-Mar-12
I almost never cut and paste logs, but given that these two frogs were hidden together, it seems reasonable enough.
I was able to park right next to GZ, and thought I would try navigating using the location readout on my GPSr, rather than an arrow to a waypoint.
After 5 minutes of walking around in circles, I gave in, set the waypoint, and found myself pretty much back where I'd started.
Well hidden, but easy to find.

Found this frog and many others during a frog raid encompassing The Domain, Howrah, South Hobart and Mount Stuart.
In all, 47 frogs and a gnome were recovered and they will be placed out in the bush tomorrow. Maybe we'll take them to Cockle Creek, NO. Strathgordon or the old Hilton Hotel at Adamsfield! YES. They are good places.

Up jumped the swaggie
And leapt into a big black stump
"You'll never catch me alive" said he,
But his ghost may be found by
Any cachers worth their salt;
Who'll come a-waltzing matilda with me.

(Just as well the race is ending soon, because that sounds like the last verse!)

25-Jan-12
Down came SamCarter
Mounted in her Subaru
She saw some frogs
Grabbed them: one two three.
"Whose's that jolly Swaggie frog
You've got stashed on your back seat?
You'll come a-waltzing Matilda with me."

(Thank goodness there is only one verse to go!)

Down came a little path
To lead you to the river bank
Up jumped the swagman
Into the nearest tree
And he sang as he watched and waited for someone to come
"Who'll come a-searching for frogs like me?"

(Even worse poetry than last time!)

One of four frogs in the vicinity, so grab 'em all (gently!)

18-Jan-12
Once a jolly swaggie frog
Camped by a pile of rocks
Under the shade of a post made of wood
And he sang as watched and waited 'til he had been found
"Who'll come and find me when I'm hidden real good"

That's lousy poetry.

Anyway, swaggie frog has gone a-waltzing again. He may -- or may not -- end up near or in a billabong.

GrannySwamp is keeping an eye on the F&G Ball going on at the bottom of the garden. The F&G Ball is a lot like a B&S Ball but without the utes.
If they stay together and not wander off, you should find them all behind the tree near the stacked wood, just on the fence line.

06-Jan-12
Nice to see this little guy again

06-Jan-12
Went off to find this frog whilst Tim Tam was occupied with other tasks. Got a bit overzealous at one stage and have now just about ripped the old rotten stump out of the ground - Dont use it as a hand hold, it moves heaps now Very Happy .
Will take Swaggie for a drive and maybe drop him at the frog version of a B&S Ball...
