Description
Hopsalot Yellowchops
Just look at him, sitting there on his box, leg tucked back and a cheeky wide eyed yellow smile. This frog's never in a hurry. He's got all his possessions packed in his crate and is patiently waiting to see where life will take him. Why not give him a lift as you travel around and drop him off in somewhere he wont be accidentally discovered. He'll be great company - won't complain or keep asking 'are we there yet?'. He'll sit happily on his old wooden crate and be happy with how ever many miles you can add to his journey.

Logs
I note Hopsalot has just achieved 10,000 kms and 51 hops. He has now moved more times than Touchwood who achieved 50 hops between 01/12/2011 and 31/01/2012. It's taken him a while but the slow and steady frog has got there. Congratulations!
Dropped this little fella off near the water.
He blended in so well, I thought he was gone at first, but then I spotted a tell tale sign of green. Very cute. Will try to move him over Easter.

Murray River Caching trip 2017. With Fitzy_1965 I headed West to the area between Moulamiein and Balranald for the weekend. Day 3. I saw these in the hands of Fitzy before they were put out on Monday morning along the river Murray.

GCA 1777. Another cute moveable Gnome ticked off.
I enjoyed the Frog games all those years ago. Nice to see so many of them still hopping around. Good Luck on the rest of your journey Hopsalot !

These guys made an appearance nearby, and are now with me for a brief stay. TFTC xMagoo2u!
Yellowchops, he hops alot. In fact he's hopped off again today.....!
#GA2018 - 20:25; I saw the alert for this cache and as it had landed nearby, set off for the pick up. It wasn't too long before I had the cache in hand and the log signed. I'll have to get hopping and make sure he hops a lot real soon TFTC xMagoo2u

Saw this one (and his mate) hit the streets near home and headed to make the grab. Cold old days in Canberra at moment so no problems with the cache still being there. Soon had them both in hand all was good.
Thanks Xmagoo2u...will move on shortly.

Hopsalot is fine and well and moving to higher ground [^]
Picked up while down south today. After two failed attempts at picking up a moveable cache in the area I finally had success with this little fellow. Will move it a little further from the sea
Cheers & TFTC

Yellowchops is now relaxing not too far from O'Sullivan Beach boat ramp.
He blends in well with the grass!

this frog is back in his narural environment with his friends
After getting verification from the previous hiders that this cache was still there, I ducked down in the late afternoon for a quick find. First physical find of the summer for me. Seems like all the moveables in Perth have been found but not rehidden. Makes it hard to play the current GCA game . TFTC

Whent to check on this little fellow today and found him just where we left him.
In fact we didn't even have to look, because he was out sun baking at the base of a scrappy tree.
We have covered him back up with bark and leaves and put a stick on top and left him for someone else to pick up.

Maybe a nasty hide this one. The clue didn't give much away either as we were surrounded by multitrunked trees. Looked for ages in and around the area however we came away empty with what looks like a string of DNFs
Back ou in the wild and waiting to be picked up again

I've had this fella for far too long. Moved him up to a spot in the hills and released him.
Up in the hills and heading across to Mt Dale so stopped by to grab a couple of moveables including this one. Will move on soon.
Out caching with Lazarus, found a nearby GC cache so decided to drop this fellow off and give him some more miles.
Great news. I've been trying to arrange a job in WA ever since the DNF on Hopsalot. I was so sure he was safe back in there, but anything can happen over time.
So glad he's finally been rescued after two years on the beach. My prior DNF put down to lack of experience, relying too much on coordinates, doh! Time now for much needed bath, prepare for next hop.

Came out this way with Lazarus_68, dropping off a couple of gnomes so we decided to look for this one, two sets of eyes being better than one. I had looked at the past logs and spoiler photos. We arrived on site and began our search without much luck. It wasn't until I went down to the bottom and started looking in all the cracks and crevasses, that I spotted the yellow rope. Sure enough Hopsalot Yellowchops was nearby, tightly wedged in the rocks. He is now in my hands awaiting redeployment. Its been a long time between finds.
Spent half an hour looking, only found a crab.
Beware this area exposed to elements (sand sea wind) plus potential muggles.

I went to some trouble to find Hopsalot a new resting place. Despite rumours to the contrary, he seemed quite happy in the breakwater at King Island so I found somewhere similar, albeit a different ocean.
This spot has many memories to me, as in my youth I lived for nearly two years in a shack only a couple of frog throws from this spot. My bedroom window shared Hopsalots view. Shacks are all gone now, demolished to facilitate a development that never happened.
I'll put some images in the gallery to make him easier to find. There's a lot of rocks and he's only a small cache. Look for the drink can in the images, he's behind there, with a yellow rope leading to him. The can was removed after the images were taken.

Well my strange connection with this frog continues. A job in Mt Nelson had called me South but I was a little before my time. A bit of thought and I recalled that an old friend had taken lodgings just down the road.
Quick peruse of the GPS and I was heading for Kingston. The nature of the road there meant that I overshot my mark a bit but I just pulled over, ducked across the traffic and legged it back. The coordinates lead me straight to a spot that matched the hint but, despite an obvious hide, the cupboard was bare.
I wasn't too fussed, as I realised my data was out of date, so I headed back. On the way I spotted a bit of litter that seemed familiar. Sure enough I'd found a Geocaching notebook, placed by Greenish and complete with a FTF by DnA! on the 4/9/12 @14.30. No cache number or anything else.
Anyway a bit of scouting in the area turned up a frog (GA3962), a car (GA5476) and last of all, the object of my hunt; Hopsalot.
They were all some distance from GZ. I only had Hopsalot in the GPS so was a bit surprised to find the others but reading the recent logs tells the story. I suspect some kiddy intervention, but regardless, I now have Hopsalot in hand and am now considering where to hide such an interesting frog. He's not in a hurry so it might take a week or two.....

Checked the hide while in the area today - none of the three moveables I hid are there. Covering bark still in place, so not animals.
This cache "croaker" is hidden in a very guarded situation with two other caches!
Came by this cache by default at the event "Haunted by Trivia" tonight.
Will have him back out again ASAP
Cheers OldSaint.

Back out in the marsh area where frogs live
Hi MattyRX
Have been looking forward to collecting this cache for well over a year now.
Today was the perfect opportunity to collect this little croaker
Found his smiling face at 0925hrs
He was glad to be picked up again, sitting so long in one place on King Island drove him up the wall. Listening to him talk about it was like taking confessional
He has been moved on and is really loving the company
Let's not leave him alone for so long ever again
Thanks to Trimbletas for bringing him back from his exile!
Cheers OldSaint

Well what a couple of weeks. It has been work, work, work. From KI to Launy to Hobart and beyond. It has been great to travel around with Yellowchops. But everytime I look at him, all I get is that stupid grin of his...don't get me wrong, it brings a smile to my face. So I thought it was time to put him out and on his way. From one extreme to another King Island to Campania. Good luck on your travels little one.
Hi Trimbletas
Congrats on a find well over due!!
How is the frog after such a long hybernation? Hasn't turned into an ugly toad has it?
Don't kiss it, you might just get what you didn't want!!
Well done, looking forward to a find on this one now.
Cheers OldSaint.
PS Don't let nutwood anywhere near it!!

Waiting at the airport now to board the flight to KI. Oldsaint, shouldn't be long now.
I'll be in Grassy / King Island in a few weeks so will see if I can island hop back to the mainland.
C'mon, Old Saint. Patience!
"This frog's never in a hurry. He's got all his possessions packed in his crate and is patiently waiting to see where life will take him."
Race is over, I thought he might like a seaside holiday.
Just think, when all the other frogs are worn out or muggled, Hopsalot can leap back into the scene. In the meanwhile he's a croaker to aspire to.
Just think, it could have been Brisbane!
Cheers, nutwood

How many cachers are there on King Island? How many cachers go to King Island? How long will this frog stay on King Island without giving a majority of cachers the opportunity of finding a croaker they have not found? How LONG??
Wish I could go and get and hide it on Tassie for you all!
Cheers OldSaint.

In response to a query, I can confirm that the co-ordinates are correct. He might appear to be in the ocean but really he's nice and dry on a breakwater that the maps just don't show!
Busy trip but managed to sneak a quick trip off to Grassy to put this frog out to grass; well, actually, there's no grass about at all but it sounds good!
Hopsalot has a prime ocean side location. Prudence required a rock on top of his hide but he's sitting comfortably peeping out through a window (see gallery).

Managed to grab Hopsalot in passing as I headed for Wynyard. Another rush trip, I need company. Who better than a relaxed frog (who's not "micro" BTW!).
I reckon I'll be able to find him somewhere to relax and kick back. A garden bed's no place for a laid back frog:D

Dropped off Hopsalot where Cadbury started his journey
Great! A frog near work - picked up on the way home. Glad I checked before leaving. Will go out again later today.

Dropped further along the coast whilst on a trip westwards. Waiting to be picked up.
WE saw that Hopsalot Yellowchops had made it through quarantine and was ready to tour Tassie. So a quick trip and Hopsalot was with us. Given that it is the last day of the race, we will place him out today.
