Description

Moveable Cache Race 2001 :: Angela's frog :: Eragon

Angela's Frog

This is an entrant in the 2011 moving cache race - Leap Frog.

The aim of the game is to see how far or how often our cache can be moved within the game period.

Please move the frog on quickly and post the new coordinates.

The woman was holding a frog in one hand and writing with the other. Eragon assumed she was Angela the Herbalist.
The frog on her hand croaked and looked at them with baleful eyes. Eragon waited uncomfortably, but she said no more. Eragon was about to blurt something out when Angela looked up.

"Of course I'll tell you! All you have to do is ask but you never actually put a question to me."

Then I will ask properly. Why are you holding a frog?"

"Now we are getting somewhere. The frog is actually a toad. I'm trying to prove that toads don't exist – that there are only frogs."

"How can toads not exist if you have one on your hand right now?" interrupted Eragon "Besides what good will it do, proving that there are only frogs?"

The woman shook her head vigorously "No, no, you don't understand. If I prove toads don't exist then toads won't be able to do anything bad – like make teeth fall out, cause warts and poison or kill people. Also witches won't be able to use any evil spells because, of course, there won't be any toads around."

Eragon :: Christopher Paolini

Rules

The race is from 1/12/2011 to 31/1/2012 so it would be appreciated if finders can move it on quickly far and wide within Australia during this period.

The rules of the "Moving Cache Race Game" are published on the Caching Games site

Logging this cache is easy:

First Step: Log your find with a 'Found it' log (this will give you your smiley!)

Second Step: When you have moved the cache to a new location, log a 'Moved' log, adding the new co-ordinates and even a hint in the hint box if you wish.

It looks like this cache may be MIA. As such we'll archive it to stop it turning up in queries and lists. If the cache owner can confirm a location they can resurrect the cache by placing an "Unarchived" log against it.

Popped over to this one while in the area. Gave the item mentioned in the hint a good going over but came up empty handed. This end of the guard rail appears to have a bit more of a shine to it than the rest, so may be it has been replaced along with Angela's frog.
With no positive sightings since August 2012, maybe this one has run its race.

I am a bit surprised how long this one has stayed here, but then it took me until now to get it in my GPS. All grabbed and moved on now.

Welcome back to Canberra!

23-Jun-12
What a frog. Or is it a toad? Seen at the Geo 101 event before it hopped into Bronnie's bag, disguised as a purse.

23-Jun-12
I remember you! I first met you in a seedy frog exchange....

Had to grab him at the event today, for a ride down the highway.
Phil, want her back? Twisted Evil

23-Jun-12

Angela's frog had been waiting with us for a while so she hopped into the car when she heard we were headed to a GC Event. She got to meet a few cachers before Baby Bubbles aka Bronnie picked her up for a big move Very Happy

23-Jun-12
Found this little one at today's event, one I hadn't come across before. Thanks, it's an unusual little frogger.

08-Jun-12
Zal has got this little Ribbit at home waiting for my arrival so I can claim a find Wink but we could't spot an ideal place to drop him off until we went to the GCA 101 event where Angela's frog is offered a ride home Clapping

05-Jun-12
Waiting in Ambush is right! Though it got the wrong target Razz I forgot this guy was there to welcome me home the night I arrived. It wasnt until the next day my father spotted the gnome below and went to pick him up. At the same time he grabbed the pipe Angela's Frog was hiding on and it promptly leaped out on to him scaring the crap out of him hahaha Certainly an original cache that it for sure. She is now waiting to meet Zhaomin this week and then will hope on her way again.

In town for a visit to the Press Club just around the corner - but while grabbing a couple of nearby caches I found a suitable enough spot to drop this frog off for a visit home Very Happy

10-Apr-12
I've been a bit lapse when it comes to frog hunting this season, but with this one just down the road I couldn't help but notice it as I lazily checked the maps, and decided that alpha male and beta female would grab it on the way home from dins...

Got a nice fright when I spied it!! Eeks. Way too lifelike, especially where it was located...

I've got a trip to our nation's capital tomorrow - Perhaps I'll give this frog a visit to home territory??

After scaring the kids with this little guy I had to drop him off before going away for the weekend. I was looking for a classic hiding place close to home and found just the place. Hopefully he'll get picked up from here. Good luck getting to the Mega Event little fellow.

30-Mar-12
I swung by and grabbed this one on the way to work. I was going to take it on a trip to Phillip Island on the weekend but seeing SamWalkers note, I'll drop off somewhere local so hopefully someone going to the Mega Event will be able to grab it. Thanks SamWalkers for the Toad. It's a bit too realistic for my liking.

29-Mar-12
If any one wanted to grab the frog and carry it to the Mega Event I would like that.

27-Feb-12
A nice raining afternoon and evening for a cache run west of home to grab some of those newer caches that seem to pop up in areas I've already cleared as well as grab some oldies that I have only just solved. The day started wet, and ended the very same way, not that I was going to complain. It's nice to cache in all weather, and you know there are less muggles about when it's raining. With only a couple of DNF’s the cache run was relatively successful. This was one cache I picked up on my travels. It was a quick park and sign. I lef the frog in-situ.

The race goes on.
But there is no hurry now. Take your time to find a safe dry place that the frog will find ATTRACTIVE.

May many forgers be appalled.
Ribbit

AND if some one was holding "Angela" at about the time of the Mega Event would they please bring it to Albury/Woodonga.

Today we joined some friends who are down from Brisbane, to go to the tennis, in the city.
We caught the river cruise from Southbank to Williamstown where we had lunch.
While we there I hid Angela's Frog, and then found a nearby GC.com cache on the wharf by the HMAS Castlemaine.
Then we returned on the cruise to Southbank where we parted company before returning home.
My friends were Brisbane were amused to see this frog, which used to be a cane toad, and to here about the whole thing we have going on here in GCA.
