Rules (not guidelines)

  • Your cache must be a genuine, bone fide frog.
  • Your frog may be store bought or hand crafted.
  • Caches for the competition must be published on 1 December 2011 Australian Eastern Time (GCA Time)
Geocaching Australia has the facility to automatically publish your cache on 1 December 2011
Please refer to the Geocaching Australia wiki for more information
  • You are welcome to join the game after it has started provided you list the hidden date and published date as 1 December 2011 and add the word leapfrog to your cache tags
The later you enter your frog the less time there is to get it moving, so you are encouraged to enter the game at the commencement
  • You are required to add the word leapfrog to the tags on your entry at Geocaching Australia
You can add the word leapfrog to your tags by visiting your cache page and clicking on Tag in the Actions section in the right hand navigation section of your cache page
  • The game commences at 00:00:00 1 December 2011 AEDST and concludes 23:59:59 31 January 2012 AEDST
  • The game administrators decision is final
  • You can not find and move your own cache during the game period
  • Caches must be found and hidden by the same cacher (i.e. no mailing the cache to another cacher to hide)
  • There is no limit to the number of times other cachers can find / move the cache provided there are at least two other finds / moves in between
  • If a cacher moves your cache overseas and it remains unfound overseas for 1 week or more, the same cacher may move your cache (within the country or to another country) without breaking the "2 moves" rule
  • There is no limit to the distance other cachers can move the cache
  • Other cachers in the game may find / move your cache, but they must move it on within 2 days

On a day when I took some time off work to complete my 3 X 3 grid and find my 1000th cache (GC + GCA) and several more GCA caches (Burke & Wills, Frogs and Gnomes) this guy along was added to the growing collection in the back of the car. I'll find a suitable place to release him again soon.

Picked up by Team Ladava returning home to Sunbury after a very pleasant lunch with our son and daughter-in-law from Berwick.
The frog population has become a little low on the western side of Melbourne so let's restock it a little with the seven we picked up today.
Cheers

We thought Frobert's owner would like it if we rehid him straight away after he had stayed so long at his previous hide so we dropped Heckle and Frobert off on the way home from finding a GC cache tonight
Happy Travels Heckle!!

I decided to go on a leapfrog hunt on the way home before going out for the night. I had planned to log finds on ten frogs, and was successful on finding them all. On about the third frog I reached down and felt a sharp pain in my right eye. I had spiked it with a leaf of a nearby sword grass plant. Little did I know at that time it was going to be a very long and painful recovery over the next five days. While I was able to manage a cache a day over those days I spent most of my time lying flat with the eye bandaged shut. They don’t call it cacher grass for no reason!! Thanks for the frog!

01/01/2012 10:42 I dropped off EagleEye at K-Mart (yes they're open) and decided to drop this frog at the same time. I chose a GC site I know well as it's GZ for my "GC2M2DD my key ring - front door". So I have moved the frog and hopefully given my cache a plug Very Happy

29/12/2011 20:50 After a big day out caching with Mr & Mrs iamapom, Sue was still ready to get a cache, so we headed off to "GC33F65 Ode to the Pen" and was stunned to see two frogs here as well. As the cache hide is many meters above the creek level there is very little chance of them ever getting swamped. Collected the frog and have him at home, waiting for a time and place for re-deployment. TFTC TNLN SL

*FTF* with good mate Darian (MRX02) easy find an early one of many for the night..

Reviewing my stats I discovered a few that had very few logged words regarding the journey. I like to write a bit, and hate reading my caches logs with little of the story. This one was found somewhere and dropped somwhere on a day when we moved frogs via Geelong, Queenscliffe, Newport (ish) and ultimately to Kilkunda. Thanks for the cache and the opportunity to take this one along for the journey. This one like the 15 or soo others ended up at either Avalon Airport or up a tree at Kilkunda.. Fun was had, however like all good story's they must come to an end.. thanks for the frog..
