Logs

This geocache appears to be MIA so to stop it clogging the search lists we'll archive it.

A review shows the cache may have been collected from its currently listed co-ords, however it has not been relocated. The previous finder was contacted regarding the cache however it has not been relocated. As a result, we are archiving the cache to stop cachers looking for a cache that is obviously not at the listed co-ords. This is also done to keep the Geocaching Australia database clean and up to date,

If the cache owner can confirm that the cache has be relocated, they can post an unarchive log and the cache will be back in the game.

Reading previous logs, this moveable may still be in location OR may have been found, removed and not relocated yet. We know moveables can sometimes be forgotten / missed / left in the bottom of a caching bag, so a check has been undertaken on this one.

An update will be posted within 28 days….

Found this cache when helping Gwiber and Chwiliwr remove it from his car after his trip out east with the better half collecting them all. Thanks for the cache.

The better half and I went out for a drive in the country picking up some traditional caches and a whole load of moveable ones. The sealed roads that we went on were obviously OK but according to the better half not the gravel and 4wd ones which only confirmed her aversion to going down them in any vehicle.

Picked up this one on the worst part of the 4wd part of the trip. At one stage just before arriving at this GZ the better half thought we were going to tip over and then immediately after on the next bit she thought we were going to get stuck as the ruts were huge and unavoidable but I managed to get over them after a bit of back and forth.

Thanks for the cache.

Time to catch up and log all the moves made for the large number of moveable caches that we have accumulated over the last months.

On the trip out into the Wandoo forrest area with the better half doing some maintenance of my caches after a fire and we dropped off a number of moveable caches along the way.

I was being looked after by Chwiliwr and the better half for the day at their place and whilst there saw a whole big group of moveable caches that were being organised for a move somewhere by my grandparents so played with them for a bit before they were packed up. (Those that were not too fragile to be played with.)

Thanks for the cache.

The better half and I took Gwiber for a drive to Bunbury and beyond to do some GCA moveable recovery and a couple of the new caches as well.

'Found' this cache in the hands of tbh after Gwiber 'dropped' it in Bridgetown.

Thanks for the cache.

This moveable was one of the ones collected on the trip.

Thanks for the cache.

Got it. Using Geocube.
I was using the app Geocube to look for the cache
Such a revolution being able to search for a GCA cache on the iPhone
This could be a game changer for GCA
The app was a bit clunky at first but as I used it more it became easier to use.
I was even able to log a find from the phone.

Discovered 'Leapfrog Dog a Frog' at the Moveable & Mystery Madness Event held in Whiteman Park. The forecast was for rain but we were blessed with good weather for the day. A small but dedicated group of geocachers and a couple of new faces attended and exchanged stories of caches found and missed. Many thanks Cathylmorgan for the cache.

Planning for this trip began in June - we knew we would be heading to Adelaide but which way would we go? This depended on our targets. We looked at our list of unclaimed Dragon Zone trophies and picked out several that we could feasibly collect the required number of finds to qualify for the trophy. We then had to identify caches that would meet our targets and from here it was time to plan a route that would take us past the caches we had identified. Any caches too far off our route were discarded and replaced by suitable alternatives.

All was running smoothly until the Christmas in July game was announced. We would be travelling in the latter part of the game. It was difficult to include this in our target caches as we did not know what was required. Once the game began and we understood what we needed to do we could then add other caches to the target list.

We were just getting our heads, yes all four of them, around this when more Dragon Zone trophies were added. Which ones could we meet and which should we ignore? Do we need to add more GA caches and/or do we need to change our route and our targets? We decided on our target list and then our route and timeline. We had just drawn a line under everything and were about to begin printing our caching booklets, route maps and target lists when caught@work published 23 new caches on the Western Ring Path. Earlier we had decided on the caches in the Edgewater Walk series. If we added the new ones on the Western Ring Path and as many of the CCC series as possible, we could probably reach the required number of caches to qualify for the Dragon Zone trophies “Restraining Order Stalker” (Find 100 DZ caches hidden by the same cacher) and “Obsession!=Insanity” (find 50 DZ caches in a day). As the latter would give us our first Blaze Trophy, it was decided to alter everything to include the CCC series.Four Fun, in South Australia published five puzzle caches that would bring good points in the Christmas in July game. Can we solve the puzzles? A few more adjustments to the route and the caches to find list and we would be off.

Having successfully completed our Melbourne challenges and gained our first Blaze Dragon Zone trophy it was time to focus on the Christmas in July game. We started on the Kenneth Stirling Conservation Park puzzle caches recently published by Four-Fun. With Four-Fun's puzzles found, several of J_&_J's puzzles found and the Christmas in July game over it was time to focus on completing the requirements for a few more Dragon Zone Trophies.

When we knew that there was a possibility that we would have a break from grand parent duties we had planned this slight detour so that we could find both GA and GC caches that would meet the requirements for several Dragon Zone trophies and several GC challenge caches in several states. As we had already visited all states and territories except Western Australia this year it was time for us to hop on a plane and head for Perth, Western Australia.

When we were at home we had noticed that Lazarus68 had been collecting moveable caches during a recent visit to the eastern states. We wondered if Lazarus would be back in the west by the time we visited and if we would have an opportunity to find the moveables that were in his care. So, we contacted Lazarus and the stars did align. We made arrangements to visit and we were able to log finds on quite a few moveable caches. Many thanks Lazarus68 for making these caches available for our visit. In turn, we left another ten moveables in the area which are also now in the care of Lazarus68.

Found this cache while looking for GC26CKX (Plenty Paradise) with a friend.
He is still snug and dry in his container and has been returned to the same spot.
I have never found a movable cache before.

My first GCA cache, didn't really know what the deal was with moveables, but I do now so I'll return in future and take him walkabout.

Was looking for Plenty Paradise. But stumbled upon this one and we didn't realise there was a difference, so we logged it as a find as Plenty Paradise (GC26CKX).

Woah there, back up, not so fast Speak to the Hand. Being the person who placed this one here back in June last year, I thought I'd better go and see if it really had disappeared.

Not only is the cache exactly where I'd left it, but it has been found twice since then, including once last month Shocked (see attached pickie).

I'll concede that my coordinates might have been about 5 metres out Embarassed so I took a revised set and have posted them here for reference.

I've also attached a pickie showing the precise location of the hide. (Needless to say it's still at the same location and in excellent condition as well Very Happy.)

For anyone who wants to go there, it's a very pleasant part of the world and the 3-for-1 offer with GA1932 and GC26CKX still goes Dancing.

My suggestion would be to re-activate it and get the finders to come along, even if they're not going to log their finds on-line Shocked.

Thanks cathylmorgan.

Lost on its travels!

There's been no find or moved log on this one in awhile.
Maybe it's time for this one to be archived, or disabled, to prevent it continually showing up in searches as being located.

OK, our little guy is all dried out and ready to be found again. It's in a nice bit of bushland in Plenty about 20 or so metres from a combined GC/GCA cache. Three for the price of one, can't ask better than that Wink.

Happy travels little fella.

Found this one and his mate, GA3655, at 08:25 while on the way to work on a shocker of a morning. At least bad weather keeps the muggles away Smile.

Alas, there was a small amount of water inside and the logbook was damp so I collected him to dry him out before replacing him somewhere else shortly.

TNLNSL. Thanks cathylmorgan.

We were in Wattle park to set up a geocaching scouting activity, however, since we were there, we decided to pickup 5 frogs that have been languishing here for some time.

A strange type of frog indeed.

We'll get it moving again soon.

Thanks cathylmorgan.

I had tried for this one previously, but had not widened my search sufficiently for this one to be found. Today, with renewed vigour, and bit more search time I had this one out of the hiding spot within about 3 minutes. Thanks for the cache. I'll post it at the co-ords I think it's at.

Dropped of a set of 5 caches in Bulla near the Woodlands series of caches. Beware that two of the frogs are identical, so check their tags to see who is who otherwise (like me) you'll get them very confused with each other.
Access is via the grasslands near a pulloff near Oaklands Rd where you can access the froggies via a gate in the fence.

Found in C@H's frog box..

Reviewing my stats I discovered a few that had very few logged words regarding the journey. I like to write a bit, and hate reading my caches logs with little of the story. This one was found somewhere and dropped somwhere on a day when we moved frogs via Geelong, Queenscliffe, Newport (ish) and ultimately to Kilkunda. Thanks for the cache and the opportunity to take this one along for the journey. This one like the 15 or soo others ended up at either Avalon Airport or up a tree at Kilkunda.. Fun was had, however like all good story's they must come to an end.. thanks for the frog..
