Description

Iron Bird - Caroline Springs Walk

The iron bird stands proud to bring you to the end of the local protected grasslands.

Caroline Springs, just 25km west of Melbourne is a thriving community with a great trail of paths and walkways between the artificial lakes, ponds and creeks. Set in 800 hectares of grazing land Caroline Springs was developed on greenfield land since starting in 1999. At the north of the suburb is the town square and main shopping centre known as CS Square, and a man-made lake known as Lake Caroline. This series of geocaches takes you along some of the lesser-known pathways around various creeks and waterways on the edge of Caroline Springs.

The cache you seek is a 200ml Sistema container pained to blend into the surrounds. Always be aware of snakes around water and leaves and think before you put your hands into any hole or where you can’t see the ground.

Alas the cache is full of water, so I'll archive this one, save the container and reuse it in the future.
Thanks to everyone who found this one.

Today we started caching in the area and this was one of 21 caches we found.

A very sodden log book here, but we were still able to sign it.

Many thanks caughtatwork for placing this series of caches, we enjoyed our wander around the area.

The art work attracted our attention so we stood back to admire it as a group of muggles rode by. After a short search we located the container. It was well hidden but displayed signs of having been very wet at some stage. When we opened the container we first noticed the wet, slimy log book followed by a pool of thick water on the base of the container. We were just able to scratch our name on the back of the front cover. The pages were very wet and tore when we started to write on them.

Thanks for this hide caughtatwork. The container will need cleaaning and drying before a new log book is put in place.

###FTF###

I pulled out the treadly dusted off the cobwebs.

After dropping the geodaughter at school I headed to the springs area for some smileys.

This was an interesting sculpture.

I was looking all round the wrong area.

When I eventually widened the search I discovered the hide!

TFTC Very Happy
