Description

Sheoak Bridge - Caroline Springs Walk

Just walking along and when you find a bridge, you must hide something at it. The sheoak needles are all over the place and will hide this geocache very, very well, so this hint is a good one.

Caroline Springs, just 25km west of Melbourne is a thriving community with a great trail of paths and walkways between the artificial lakes, ponds and creeks. Set in 800 hectares of grazing land Caroline Springs was developed on greenfield land since starting in 1999. At the north of the suburb is the town square and main shopping centre known as CS Square, and a man-made lake known as Lake Caroline. This series of geocaches takes you along some of the lesser-known pathways around various creeks and waterways on the edge of Caroline Springs.

The cache you seek is a 200ml Sistema container pained to blend into the surrounds. Always be aware of snakes around water and leaves and think before you put your hands into any hole or where you can’t see the ground.

We spent some time looking for this cache. We found a location consistent with the hint but no amount of searching, including taking of photos in the cavities and widening the search area incase the cache had been washed to a slightly different location, revealed the cache. We will put this cache on watch in case another cacher has more success in the future. Thanks anyway caughtatwork.

Next stop and my last DNF for the day. I couldn't get a good lock on the GPSr and I couldn't get the hint to work me. Maybe I've been out too long and the heat has finally beaten me. Whatever my excuse, I couldn't come up with the cache here.

Thanks anyway C@W...my guess is the cache is ok, I just couldn't make the find.

###FTF###

I pulled out the treadly dusted off the cobwebs.

After dropping the geodaughter at school I headed to the springs area for some smileys.

When I arrived here a nearby dog was going made.

Then the owner was leaning on his fence.

I just pulled out the drink bottle and had a 'rest'.

TFTC Very Happy
