Description

A Leap Frog? What else.

Froggy is not amused. Well, that's what his face, crossed arms and crossed legs seem to be saying. Amuse froggy by taking him somewhere and leaving him for someone else to find. Amuse froggy by taking a few pictures of him to enterain both him and his owner. Move him far and wide. Please try to hide him well so he is not discovered and so he doesn't come to an untimely end.

Froggy loves to be found, but please respect his wishes.

  • Log Froggy at Geocaching Australia with a Find then a Moved log.
  • Get Froggy back out in to the wild within 2 days.
  • Don't move Froggy again until there have been two other people move her.

Froggy is about 30cm tall and he will blend in to all green environments, so you may need to hide him well.

With 2 DNF's, it looks like Froggy Is Not Amused is less than amused, he's downright unhappy Sad
One of the challenges of a moveable cache is not being able to check for yourself, so I'll trust the cachers and assume Froggy has gone missing. RibbitRibbit

Made a search but it would have been useful to have gloves as protection from the sharp parts of the hiding place. TFTC caughtatwork

The day was split between finishing off the Tranmere group and some newer ones at Lindisfarne It was an ominously bad start with the first 3 as DNFs, but a rescan brought it back to 2 from 3. Eventually we pared that back 1 DNF until adding another later in the day. Quite a few foot kilometres were involved as we drove to a car park for each area and walked to the caches.

Admittedly, a bit of 'moveable fatigue' has set in, but seeing a caughtatwork froggy so close to home got my interest. We picked him up on the way back from town. He probably wasn't amused being stuck head first under a bush, but that's the frogging life, isn't it! Cheers!

This croaker was placed on the table at the event GC3YD6Y "Haunted by Milestones" organised by Cheesy Pigs.
By the end of the night another cacher had taken it and will hide it in the near furture.
Froggy was Amused at the carry-on of this event.
Cheers OldSaint.

Hi caughtatwork
Today was the second day of a two caching expedition with Budgietas and Cheesy Pigs. Yesterday was fine and just what you want for caching. However, today we woke only to find the weather conditions totally the opposit of yesterday - pouring with rain. Not good for caching and not even good for the ducks!
Yesterday, I left Huonville at 0700hrs, met up with the two other finders and left for Launceston about 0900hrs. Today, left Western Junction round 0645hrs and went for breakfast at Maccas. Cached all day and got back to Huonville on the first of November at 2340hrs. A great trip and I extend my thanks to Budgie and Cheesy for making it a memorable couple of days. Thanks to CraigRat for organising the event on the 31st of October.

This cache was my 30th for the day:
This was a great hide found very quickly. The weather has now turned on us again, starting to get like it was earlier this morning. The cache was found, the log signed and taken to the car at 1420hrs. The rain is teeming down, discussion was hopeful that it may clear if we went further afield. So from here it was off to find "Nile Chapel"
weather permitting.

Day two had me find fifty-one caches, yesterdays caching produced fourty-one finds for me, total of 92 for the entire trip. I got a personal best for finds in a day again today and I think Cheesy set new one again today too.

Thanks for the cache
Cheers OldSaint.

Found this frog in oldsaint's hands after he retrieved it as we hid from the rain. Thanks for the frog

Had fun finding Froggy again. Not being familiar with the maze of tracks in the area, I simply parked next to the relevant patch of bush and went cross country along wallaby tracks. Reminded me much of my previous hunt for this frog in Melbourne. No idea where I'm going, just follow the GPS.
Anyway the frog was soon in hand and I was able to follow more official tracks for most of the return journey. TFTF Ribbit

After pandering to it's ego for a few days, it was time for this not amused frog to be out and on its way again. So we placed it in a frog friendly area hoping that otheres of the species may lift the spirits and enable it to see the brighter side of life.

#8 of 8 caches on 8/10/12 for the cache "GA2512 A Busy Day" - Moveable. REQUIREMENTS MET by 4:30pm!!!!!!!!!

After attending the Geocaching 102 Event in Hobart the previous evening, we decided to head home via the West Coast and along the way try to meet the requirements for the above locationless cache. We had been monitoring this moveable throughout our planning for the locationless and were hoping that despite Froggy not being amused at being stranded at Strahan for so long, it would remain there a little longer until the target day. We were not disappointed. Froggy was found very quickly doing its best impression of Queen Victoria. We did, however, detect a slight sence of relief from Frogyy as it was carted back to the geomobile. After spening a few days with us, Froggy will be placed in a location where there should be more activity. Even then we suspect that Froggy will not be amused. TFTC

After going for a bit of a road trip with us, we decided that considering he always appeared grumpy, we should drop him off near some water. He did not seem very amused about it though.... there just seems to be no pleasing him!! Ribbit

Stumbled upon this little guy hiding while hunting for another cache. He did not look amused about being left alone on this cold and wet day. We thought that he would be much happier joining us on our road trip.

How can Froogy not be amused by these whimsical sculptures in the bush in central Tasmanian. Maybe because there doesn't have to be a reason for some magical places like these, or maybe it is because she is hidden with another cache. Take the time to explore the sculpture, be amused and send our picnicker friend onwards.

17-Jul-12
A pretty brief search after work had me searching at dusk for the not so amused froggy. I spent some time off the bank at the base of really big trees before having to quickly browse at this tree after my search time was finished. I was almost shocked to find the group of frogs and names in the gloom. Anyway she is off to Interlaken on the weekend.

I have found this frog...BUT it HAS been swapped with 'Frogmore or Less'....hence I'm guessing that Frogmore or Less is still at the posted co-ords of Cheesy Pigs....as I picked this one up at S42° 46.736 E147° 17.100 on the East Derwent Hwy...dropped off by polfil. I've no choice but to log the frog I have here?? Inevitable that with so many hoppers on the move this was going to happen...not happy Jan.

Had a search in fading light but could not find. Hopefully been collected. Otherwise a better hint eg roadside of shrub, church side, middle of shrub as hard to have a good search with constant muggle traffic.

Froggy has been released again. Sorry for the delay. We stuck his head back on easily enough but the tape had wreaked havoc with his paint job. Nice and sunny this morning, ideal weather for repairs to paint work.
He's now comfortably in residence next to the Tamar River, although I'm sure how long he'll be staying there. Very HappyRibbit

Another capture whilst on a flying visit. Having located Artemis and discovering she was lightweight, I couldn't ignore her sibling 900m away. A pleasant walk through the various parks brought me to GZ where a quick find was made. More good co-ordinates and another good hint.
Band-aids do tend to spoil her looks though, would you like us to investigate glue options before releasing her. Not sure how long the band-aids will handle winter weather and we don't want her losing her head. Very HappyRibbit

The last time I went looking for frogs down here I found five syringes at the base of the tree where the frog was hidden. Today was much different, with this little frog hiding in a cosy bundle of twigs and leaves. Thanks for the opportunity to log the cache. I will leave in place.

He hasn't been in any logs since the day I found him, I swear!

Anyway, after an excessive amount of time in the back of my car (apologies C@W Embarassed ) he's out in the wild again after I swapped him for another Frog.

Travel far little Frog Ribbit .

Spotted this one at 10:45 having a nice lie down against a new GC cache in Research. He seems to have had attracted a couple of band-aids during his travels Shocked.

Not moving again, just updating the coordinates. I had a technical glitch when I hid these which meant I had to use google maps to guess the location.

Sorry I haven't been able to get back 'til now

No luck with this frog today. My GPSr was giving me a GZ that, although not too far off the path, was at least 30 m away from the nearest log. I gave the nearest 3 or 4 logs a quick search but wasn't too confident of the co-ords. OR, maybe they just didn't want to be found by me today Razz . Ribbit

Well that didn't go to plan. The idea was to drop the frogs we picked up from Wattle Park this morning near our frog (http://geocaching.com.au/cache/ga3467) to encourage someone to pick ours up. I ended up entering the park in the wrong place and couldn't find my way across to my frog. Froggy being a gentleman offered to stay with the pregnant lady to make sure she was OK.

Looks like 10 frogs is too many for me to handle. Coordinates are from Google Maps. I'll try to go back and confirm ASAP.

The kids needed to get out of the house so a frogging trip to Wattle Park seemed ideal. Picked this one up as 1 of 10 for the morning. TFTF.

Found after a bit of a search (coords were some way off, and confused about what left was relative to, finding quite a hole at the root end of the tree in the process!) A few minutes later, through process of elimination I managed to locate Froggy - he wasn't impressed having to wait so long - or perhaps it was a headache from his injuries - he certainly seems to have been in the wars judging by all the bandaids and bandages!

Hey I forgot to mention after moved.
I found it as it seems looking well and carry it into my vechile then Froggy got injury by head falling off.

Welcome to The Empire's FDG (Frog Dumping Ground)
If I am not going caching on a day after I have grabbed some frogs, I'll dump all my frogs here. It's close enough to my place and not far to travel for the GCA enthusiasts who live in neighbouring suburbs. This should keep more frogs in the game, even if it's not a big move. The park is quiet enough to hide without disturbing too many muggles.
