Description
This moveable cache, launched on 1 December 2009, was an entrant in the "Moving Cache Race". It now remains in circulation as a moveable cache, travelling around Australia.
This moveable cache belongs underneath the green Australia Post pickup boxes, located around Australia's suburbs. These boxes allow the posties to continue their rounds "post haste" without having to return to the post office between each bike load.
Being a moveable cache, you are required to find this cache, take it with you, and place it underneath another green box somewhere else as soon as possible - preferably as far as possible from where you found it. Unlike normal caches, stealth really isn't necessary when you find it - just grab the cache, then run!
The race is now over, but this cache remains in circulation, so you are encouraged to find it, and keep it moving. During the two months of the race, this cache:
- was moved 33 times;
- was found by 21 different geocaching teams;
- spent time in Melbourne, Ballarat, Shepparton, Canberra and Sydney; and
- travelled a total distance of 1615.75 km.
Many thanks to all of the teams who helped this cache move so far and so often. More information about the race is available here.
The cache is a 200ml Sistema container, painted green to match the Aussie Post boxes. It's magnetic, so easily attaches underneath. And if you can't find a green post box, then the cache would be equally happy hidden in or under anything else that its magnet finds attractive... such as an armco roadside barrier!
So, go get it, and thanks for your help keeping it moving along!
How to log a moveable cache:
First Step: Log your find with a 'Found' log (this will give you your smiley!)
Second Step: When you have moved the cache, log a NEW 'Moved' log, adding the new co-ordinates.

Intend to drop in one of two spots this Friday - somewhere green AT the OZ-Mega Event, or if that fails, then somewhere green in Wagga.

It's green, although not a post box, and as it turns not magnetic.
Moved 12.19km
Very near to OHMPS. Unfortunately the local "pickup" box didn't have any cavities so it ended up around the corner.

I had been aware of these boxes for awhile, so when the green post box cache arrived, I have had it in mind. Albida.
Many thanks to everyone for keeping it on the move this week. I've returned the favour by moving a couple of yours that are down here in Victoria at the moment!
Moved 3.43km
Dropped off in Narrabundah this afternoon. Not sure if it's been here before.
There is also another one of these on Shoalhaven Avenue, Amaroo
Will try find another Australia Post Green Box, but if all else fails, there are plenty of other green boxes around Canberra (Telstra RIMs, etc).

Whilst this cache tempted me to pick up as it was close to home, I came to regret it. I hadn't noticed any green letter boxes around town so couldn't move it anywhere. The Australia Post website lists the locations of all the yellow and red boxes, but NO green ones - useless. Emailed friends - they had heard of them but couldn't say where. Eventually one of them spotted one in O'Malley, so off we went tonight to unburden. Not even sure if it is a letter box because it's right beside a red one.
If someone is heading interstate where there is a better density of these rare and unusual green boxes, please move it there!
If anyone has problems finding a green post box, then feel free to stick it somewhere else, rather than hanging onto it for too long! A roadside barrier, behind anything metallic, even under a bush somewhere if that's easier!
Thanks to everyone for keeping it moving.
Two convenient ones I know of now:
1 - Pockett Ave BANKS, opp Banks shops.
2 - Tyagarah st O'MALLEY (it a very short street off Hindmarsh Dr).
As I come across more, I'll update the list while this guy stays in Canberra.
Moved 5.7km
No green letterboxes in Canberra that I am aware of... So found a green electricity box instead! - Besides - electricity goes faster that post! So lightning haste now!
Moved 3.76km
There are not too many green post boxes in Canberra so I have placed this on a green convenient facility that may be of some 'releaf'. Almost a drive by.
Moved 4.76km
Down by the Lake Burley Griffin to soak up the atmosphere! Great views of all the attractions!

Tronodor - feel free to leave it somewhere else if you can't find a green AusPost box!

This is a two-for-one hide. Heliopolis is the temple of the sun god Ra and you will find the moveable cache there. http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=3e371fc1-7f62-411b-a8cf-9301f3c7441b

Arrived in Sydney and dropped this cache along with Cache me if you can in the same location (see hint). That should put some k's on these caches clocks. Co-ords may be a little off, but the hint is a giveaway.
I will be in Sydney on Wednesday so I hope to hide this very soon after I get there.

A quick move close to the caughtatwork household but don't go looking for it, it's on the move again. This cache has met up with Cache Me If You Can again, but they're on the move very quickly tonight.
This cache will be moving fast tonight then if the gods are aligned, off to another state later in the week.
A small hiatus may occur during transfer.
We apologise for the inconvenience
Added an original GCA pathtag and a new GCA Enigmatic Echidna pathtag for the next lucky finder.

Ready to go and grab!

Moved to the other end of town. Still on the same structure. Two moving caches in this spot.
Moved 92.72km
Post Haste has moved to Ballarat for a visit.
It's under the same device as intended and quite open to being spotted by muggles, but as a moving cache, who cares.
What a hoot, 4 caches under the same letter box.
Now that makes for easy drive by caching.
I haven't time this afternoon to rehide, but they will be out and about tomorrow.
Depending on whether the child wants to go for a driving lesson, they may be close, they may be far, far away.
Thanks pwags for this caching fun today.
