Description
Have your photo taken with the magnificently carved eagle at the entrance to the Healesville Sanctuary
Well actually his name isn’t Ernie, it’s Bunjil, but Ernie is much more alliterative.
Whilst visiting Healesville Sanctuary today I realised there wasn’t a Geocaching Australia cache here so decided to make this beautiful bird a cache.
It is on the left as you enter the Sanctuary, but before you reach the turnstiles, so you do not have to pay to get your photo taken here.
Mind you it is worth every penny to go inside and look around, especially to see the Birds of Prey performance.
I expect a flood of photos on this one because it seems a focal point for folk to have their visits immortalised.

We spent today at the sanctuary. It's always good to get the kids away from the screens for a day and we always love the birds of prey display.
Thanks Cybergran V for the cache

We're in Healesville for the week and have decided to use our final full day to visit the sanctuary....then gorge ourselves on cheeses later. tftc cybergranv

A perfect spot for a picture and it seems a lot of other people had the same idea today.
We had a fantastic time at the Sanctuary today sharing our native birds and animals with our American grandchildren.
Looking forward to seeing some great snaps.
